Throughout the year In The
Mean Time Ministries runs food pantries and
gives away more than 1.2 million pounds of food and
serves more than 10,000 hot meals to the homeless
community in their area. Tip Top Poultry,
Pleasant Grove Church, Publix, Trader Joe's and
Turner Chapel Church and many, many others all
contribute to make us a success!
A free community dinner is served
in a Christian setting every Thursday night from
6:00 - 7:00 PM for the homeless and economically
disadvantaged people. Meals are served at
the The Shepherd's House located at
720
Powder Springs, Street, Marietta, GA 30064.
Moore says, "The meal
is designed to make those attend feel better about
themselves." It is called a community dinner
because you don't have to be homeless to attend.
Another aspect of the dinner is entertainment.
Volunteers from this ministry wait on the guests and
serve the food and each week a church choir or
pianists or other musician is brought in to provide
entertainment for the diners.
The Thanksgiving dinner is a
program for Adults and children and feeds about 2000
people a year. The program usually begins
around 10:00 AM with dinner served from 12:30 PM to
3:30 PM. Delivery is available for homebound
elderly residents of Cobb. Please contact us
